International Overdose Awareness Day
August 31st is known as International Overdose Awareness Day. On this day, communities and organizations come together for candlelight vigils to honor those who we’ve lost to overdose. Please note that not all of these events fall on August 31st, so please continue further down the page for those events. Our hope is to raise awareness that overdose is preventable, to hear stories of those in recovery, and more. You can also learn more about this day and ways to get involved by visiting the International Overdose Awareness website, here.
Below is where you will find events in your area. Please stay tuned, as more will be getting added here as they are finalized. #endoverdose #timetoremember #timetoact
In Mt. Morris, NY: Al Lorenz Park (Pavillion #3) on Thursday, September 7th.
The Genesee Valley Health Partnership Suicide Prevention Task Force and CASA-Trinity, Inc. invite you to join us in fellowship for an evening of hope and reflection, for those we’ve lost to suicide or overdose. Please be sure to “like” @livingstoncountysuicideprevention on Facebook, so you can watch it live, if you feel more comfortable doing so. We ask that you turn your porch lights on at 7:30PM, that night, in remembrance of those lost.
In Henrietta, NY: SOBERFEST – NYS Sober Active Recovery Festival September 16th-17th.
