DANSVILLE, NY, March 31, 2021 – CASA-Trinity, Inc. has been awarded $2,121,400 from the New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports (NYS OASAS) and its fiscal agent, the Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene (RFMH), on behalf of Your Heath Partners of the Finger Lakes, IPA (Independent Provider Association). The award, announced earlier this month by New York State Governor Andrew M. Cuomo, is for network services in Monroe, Livingston, Steuben, Chemung and Tioga counties.
"This funding will enable behavioral health entities to collectively and strategically assess needs, gaps, and barriers and monitor progress as a region," said CASA-Trinity CEO Ann Domingos, adding "...organizations in the Finger Lakes region have a long history of collaboration. Together, we will foster a seamless approach to treating clients and their families through the full continuum of care."
The award is funded through State Opioid Response (SOR), federal funding designed to assist states in responding to the crisis surrounding opioid and stimulant use. Specific to CASA-Trinity, Inc., this funding will cover the following services: rapid response teams in Livingston, Chemung and Steuben County; transitional housing for residents of Chemung and Tioga counties; a recovery center in Steuben County; expansion of prevention programming, including: parenting programs, methamphetamine and opioid awareness campaigns, trauma informed classroom programming and after school teen programming; and a young adult clubhouse.
"As New York continues to fight the COVID-19 pandemic and the opioid epidemic, this targeted investment in community-based services bring prevention, treatment, and recovery services to New Yorkers who need them most," said OASAS Commissioner Arlene González-Sánchez. "We're proud to support addiction service providers so they may continue expanding access to critical services and conducting outreach at the local level in communities in the Finger Lakes region and statewide."
"We are excited to leverage our network and infrastructure to enhance the unique strengths of each member of the collaboration who will be delivering the services funded through this grant," said Marlene Bessette, President & CEO of Your Health Partners. "We are grateful to NYS OASAS for the opportunity to build and support an effective regional network of partners committed to prevention efforts, treatment and recovery of individuals challenged by substance use."
CASA-Trinity applied for the funding in response to a "New York State Opioid Response Network Approach to Prevention, Treatment and Recovery to Address Opioid Use Disorder" request for applications.
